Terms of Service for Safety 1st

Payment Terms
An invoice will be issued upon confirmation of your booking. The outstanding balance should be settled prior to course commencement. Please note certificates will not be not validated or released until the total amount is settled.

Additional charges (overdue Invoice payments and re-issued certificates)
If payment is overdue by more than 30 days, a reminder will be sent out and may carry a £15.00 administration fee. Failure to pay within the period specified shall entitle us to charge you for costs and expenses incurred in recovering late payments, and to charge interest at the rate in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. Safety 1st may charge an administration fee of £20.00 per certificate when a certificate is re-issued for the following reasons: Lost certificates, amended certificates due to incorrect spellings supplied by the client or changes to supplied delegates’ lists or changes to booked training dates where certificates have already been printed.

Rescheduling and Cancellations
Once a date has been confirmed by email, the client will be liable to cover the costs of any rescheduling initiated by the client. Under these circumstances there will be a £50 administration fee added on the cost of the course.

If the client cancels a course or a place on an open course, they will be liable to a cancellation fee. This is charged on the following sliding scale;

  • No charge and full refund if cancelled more than 28 days in advance of start date, including weekends.
  • 50% of invoice total if cancelled within 28 days of start date, including weekends.
  • 100% of invoice total if cancelled within 7 days of start date, including weekends.

In the event of fewer students attending a course than had been booked, the client will still be charged for the class size rate they originally requested.

We reserve the right to cancel or postpone any course, If this becomes necessary, as much notice as possible will be given and the client will be offered a choice, with due consultation of:

  • A full refund.
  • A proportionate refund, if the course has commenced and is not yet completed.
  • An alternative date to commence or complete the course as appropriate to the circumstances.

Re-qualification courses
To be eligible to attend an two day re-qualification course, students must present a valid First aid at Work certificate issued by an approved provider which is ‘in date’ on the last day of the re-qualification course. Qualsafe Awards regulated by Ofqual allow an additional 1 month from the expiry date of the certificate to complete re-qualification training and assessment.
